As I near the close of my Admission's rotation, I think of all I have learned in such a short period of time. Perhaps appropriately, I reflect most on my start at the North Raleigh campus.

Ever get up in the morning and wonder why you do it? You know what I mean: the alarm goes off, you drag yourself out of bed, get cleaned up and trudge to the office only to start the same thing over again. You feel…for lack of a better word…STUCK! I’m here to tell you I’m free! Free from the drudgery of the daily grind. Free from the same old routine day after day. Free from being stuck. Honestly, when my alarm goes off, I really do love that snooze button because I love sleep. However, now when I wake up in the morning,

So many times we get stuck in a rut in our daily lives. In fact, employee turnover, divorce, and even illness can all be linked to being in a rut. Look it up, I'm right about this one. Face it, it is easy to get comfortable in your life and feel like that comfort is all you need and all you are. But life is not about being comfortable all the time. Life can't fully be enjoyed without something shaking it up. Life is about taking a risk, making a change, doing something different. That's the pepper on the steak, the ketchup on the fries, or the spoon in the cereal. Now I'm hungry...

The CDLP team would like you to join us in congratulating Thomas on his successful completion of the Campus Director Leadership Program and promotion to Campus Director!

Thomas is a member of the February 2009 CDLP cohort. He has worked at Strayer's Henrico and Birmingham campuses and has assumed the role of Campus Director at the Houston Katy campus in Texas. Prior to joining the CDLP, Thomas graduated from Virginia Tech University with a degree in Business Management.

That's what it feels like...nothing but net! I just finished Centralized Admissions Training and actually felt the "ah-ha" moments! It was awesome shadowing seasoned AO's, and then to get the training and see how it all ties in...Awesome! Now I can see the forest through the trees.

All it takes is that one person to turn your day around. Seeing someone come into Strayer with an idea and leave with a plan is a feeling everyone should get. We can and do change lives.
